Student Travel Program
Funding for students to present their research, artistic, or scholarly products
The Student Travel program provides partial support (up to $400) for students to attend professional meetings and conferences to give a presentation or performance. applications are accepted on a rolling basis. After consultation with their research mentor, applications are initiated by students. Faculty mentors are then asked to review and approve the application.

Program Details
Students can receive up to $400 to help defray the cost of traveling to a conference or other professional gathering to present their research, artistic, or scholarly work. Covered expenses may include transportation, lodging, and registration fees. In some cases, applications for group presentations will be accepted and eligible for higher funding levels ($600 maximum).
Eligibility Requirements and Expectations
- Undergraduate students must be registered during the semester of travel.
- The student must be the first author on the accepted abstract or artist statement. An accepted abstract from the conference must be provided as evidence.
- Students receiving funding must submit and abstract to the Student Research and Creativity Conference (SRCC) in Spring.
- A faculty mentor should help the student prepare the application and approve the completed application.
- The faculty mentor should assist the student with travel arrangements and preparation of the presentation. It is not necessary for the faculty member to travel with the student(s), but it is encouraged.
International Travel
The Center for Global Engagement must be informed in advance of all international travel (including Canada) by students. The office is located in Twin Rise South Wing 410 and can be reached by email at intleduc@buffalostate.edu.
