The Undergraduate Summer Research Fellowship (USRF) program

Program Description and Eligibility

Details of the program and the number of awards each year are subject to funding availability.

The online application is generally opened in early March with a deadline in early April.  After consultation with a faculty mentor, students initially submit the application. Faculty are then asked to review and approve the application.

This program supports up to 8 weeks of full-time, faculty-mentored summer research, scholarly, and creative projects conducted by undergraduate students. Each fellowship provides a $3000 student stipend and $500 for travel, supplies and/or small equipment to support the project.  Summer housing for students in a Buffalo State dorm room can sometime be provided. Faculty mentors each receive a $1000 honorarium at the end of the project.

Program open to Buffalo State undergraduates only.
