Welcome to SUNY Buffalo State's Office of Undergraduate Research. Opened in 2003, our mission is to promote and provide students with a variety of research, scholarly, and creative opportunities in all academic disciplines.

Activities coordinated by OUR include the annual Student Research and Creativity Conference [SRCC]. In 2022, we hosted the annual SUNY Undergraduate Research Conference [SURC] on the Buffalo State campus. Funding opportunities available for students include the Undergraduate Summer Research Fellowship program, a program to support student travel to  conferences, and the Small Grants and EURO programs, which support student research during the academic year. For faculty, we support faculty development opportunities related to incorporation of undergraduate research into courses.

Buffalo State is proud of the ways in which we have been able to encourage student participation in research, to showcase the scholarly and creative achievements of Buffalo State students, and to integrate undergraduate research into our curriculum. Undergraduate research is a vital component of Applied Learning at SUNY and offers significant benefits to learning outcomes at every stage of the baccalaureate experience.

Buffalo State is committed to the broad diversity of disciplines, students, and mentors participating in the programs that we offer. Our campus culture greatly values faculty members working with students to achieve their academic and creative goals through intellectual exploration and experiential application. In the Office of Undergraduate Research, we greatly appreciate the faculty support that we rely on to make these endeavors possible and to give our program its stability and impact.
