Welcome to SUNY Buffalo State's Office of Undergraduate Research. Opened in 2003, our mission is to promote and provide students with a variety of research, scholarly, and creative opportunities in all academic disciplines.
Activities coordinated by OUR include the annual Student Research and Creativity Conference [SRCC] and student support for participation in the annual SUNY Undergraduate Research Conference [SURC]. Funding opportunities available for student projects include the Undergraduate Summer Research Fellowship Program and a Small Grants Program to support academic year research, travel support for students presenting/performing at professional meetings and conferences, and faculty development opportunities related to undergraduate research.
Buffalo State is proud of the ways in which we have been able to encourage student participation in research, to showcase the scholarly and creative achievements of Buffalo State students, and to integrate undergraduate research into our curriculum. Undergraduate research is a vital component of Applied Learning at SUNY and offers significant benefits to learning outcomes at every stage of the baccalaureate experience.
Buffalo State is committed to the broad diversity of disciplines, students, and mentors participating in the programs that we offer. Our campus culture greatly values faculty members working with students to achieve their academic and creative goals through intellectual exploration and experiential application. We appreciate the faculty support that contributes to these endeavors and gives our program its stability and impact.
